First look at my Glossybox. ONCE AGAIN my Glossybox did not arrive in the month I ordered it. I don’t know why they do this, but that’s just how it has been and the way it will be. I ordered on March 7, they took my money on that same day… and I received my box on April 4. I don’t think I’ve ever had such a long delay in shipping from any of the subscription box companies I’ve subscribed to. It’s kind of ridiculous, if you ask me. But enough complaining… onto the products.
Nails Inc in Baker Street (Deluxe sample size: 4 ml /0.13 fl oz, $3.75) – Okay, so I don’t wear nail polish… but. BUT. This is seriously adorable. I didn’t think I would like this at all when I saw the spoilers, but it is just so much better in person. The color is amazing and Baker Street? Yes. Give me all the Sherlock-related items.
Jelly Pong Pong Lip Blush (Full size, $18) – I do love lippies but I don’t love this color. It’s a little too bright pink for me, although reviews have said that this builds very nicely so you can easily control the intensity of color. This was a variation in the boxes and I really wish I had received the other product, which was a Etre Belle Liplift Peel.
Alterna Haircare Bamboo Luminous Shine Mist (Deluxe sample size: 0.85 fl oz/25 ml, $5.10) – This… I have absolutely no use for. I don’t like using hair styling products, even ones made with organic bamboo and paraben free. There were three variations for this product category… and I didn’t want the other two either. But it’s okay, I’ll just hold onto it until someone wants to trade for it.
Alex and Ani Scent 7 Soap Bar (Full size, $14.00) – Yeah, I don’t use bar soap… I only use body wash. It’s funny, subscription boxes keep sending me nail polish and bar soaps, it’s as if they don’t want me to try the products. But in any case, even if I did use bar soap, I wouldn’t use this one. The smell is… too much for me, though others have liked it and said that it reminds them of Aveda products. This is a huge bar of soap that is bound to last for a long time… sadly, I’m not a fan. There were also three variations with the other two being body mist and hand cream. I definitely would not use either.
Sisley Paris Black Rose Cream Mask (Deluxe sample size: 0.38 oz/11 g/10ml, $26) – This was the original spoiler for the March box and it’s a lot smaller in person! However, the full size is super expensive and not that much bigger so I guess this is a decent sized product for sampling. I don’t know if I want to use this just yet, but I’ll hold onto it for now.
Alex and Ani Swan Bracelet ($28) – This was the reason why I signed up for the March Glossybox despite the fact that I wasn’t terribly excited about their spoilers or their shipping time line. This bracelet actually retails for $28 on the Alex and Ani website (though you can now easily buy it for cheaper on ebay). Apparently these are super popular in New England at the moment and I don’t have anything like this, so I thought, why not? There were three variations… silver swan, gold swan, and silver dragonfly.
Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream (Deluxe sample size: 15 ml/0.5 oz, $12.35): This was an added bonus because I used the promo code to get it as an extra! Ironically enough, this is the item I’m most excited about in this box (next to the bracelet). I also really love the packaging of this item.
My March Glossybox.
Overall value: $107.20
Overall enjoyment: Well… this was a mixed bag for me. I won’t use all of the products but I am very excited about the ones I will use. Also, the value is amazing (probably one of the highest ever for Glossybox) but I just really hate how long it takes for them to ship to me and the lack of communication along the way. Regardless, my strategy for Glossybox is that I’ll only subscribe if I know I’ll love at least two items in the box.
In January, it was the Beauty Blender and Vichy Aqualia Thermal Cream. In March it was the Alex and Ani bracelet and the Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Cream. So far, April is not very impressive to me since the first spoiler is nail polish in terribly bright shades. So I will most likely skip April.
