June 2014 Glossybox Review

The Breakdown:
Monthly | Cost: $21/month | Beauty and Makeup
Ships via Newgistics | Ships to the US

It’s June and I… I have my June Glossybox? COULD THIS BE? I don’t know what happened this month but I actually received my Glossybox early. This never happens. Last month was barely on time as I got my boxes on the last day of May. But this month… this month I got mine a week before the end of June. I guess moving their warehouse has really helped to expedite the shipping process! Well done, Glossybox. I hope this is a sign of more good things to come.

All that being said, this month’s theme was Stars and Stripes! ย To go along with the theme, all products in this month’s box are made in the USA! The box is AMAZING and I was seriously considering buying a second one just to have the actual box itself but the contents aren’t exciting enough to justify buying another June box.

How gorgeous is this? I mean, it’s just beautiful.

Oh, and this month they sent out another gift card! This one is to C Wonder, which sells all sorts of home stuff, accessories, handbags, clothes, etc. I really love their cuffs/bracelets. Nina Garcia actually sent out three variations in her last box! The gift cards ranged from $5 to $500. I received a $5 one and won’t be using it because their shipping charge is egregious at $9.50.

For those of you who may be confused at how/where to enter it… you have to enter itย as a promotional code before you go through the entire checkout process. It does have a pin and everything, but for some reason C Wonder doesn’t take it as a gift card. Also, your code starts with a $ and then the number following it is the amount you have on your gift card. I’m guessing 90% of the people getting this will get $5. XD

A first look at my box!

Camille Beckman Platinume Gold Imperial Repair Hand Therapy (Full size, $10.00) – This is the Lemongrass Vert and Sparkling Grapefruit scent. I was SO happy to see this in the box. I love Camille Beckman’s products, especially their body butter. The products are super hydrating and aren’t greasy at all. My favorite scent is Morelia Monarch, which I sampled through Birchbox. I actually haven’t opened this because I already have a Morelia Monarch Glycerine Hand Therapy of the same size open right now. XD

Ayres Patagonia Body Butter (Deluxe sample size: 1 oz/28 g, $4.15) – I am also super excited about this product because BODY BUTTER! Seriously, just send me all the body butters and lotions and creams in the world and I’ll be happy. I love sampling new body butters. This one is a lot thinner in consistency than I thought it would be. It’s almost like a lotion.

The scent is interesting! I like trying to smell things before I read the description/notes. This one smells woodsy and like a L’Occitane product. It almost kind of reminds me of like a certain kind of candle/a hotel room? Almost… a smoky quality? It’s definitely not a feminine scent and could be easily be used for guys too!

The official description from the info card says “This fragrant-fusion of jasmine, rosemary, lavender, bergamot, and fir essential oils harkens to Patagonia’s contrasting landscapes.” Well, fir essential oils is where I got that woodsy/smoky scent from. And for me, that’s the most prominent note. Now that I’ve read the description, I can smell a hint of the rosemary too.

StrangeBeautiful Colorbloc (Full size, $18) – This was the first spoiler they released that made me sad. Because… nail polish. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ However, I think these colors are really beautiful and if I did wear nail polish, I definitely wouldn’t mind giving them a try. The packaging is really unique and I can certainly appreciate that! I’m not entirely sure this is full size, but looking at other blogs, I think everyone is guessing that it is.

(Also, if it wasn’t then this box wouldn’t meet its promised $55 value)

The top actually comes off and each little bottle has its own cap.

Under the sun.

On the windowsill! :p

Rusk Texture Dry Finishing Spray (Deluxe sample size: 50 ml/1.5 oz, $3.38) – This was the second spoiler they released and one I was not at all excited about. In fact, this is probably my least favorite item in the box. I don’t use hair styling products so this is unfortunately wasted on me. I can’t even give you guys a real review on this because I won’t use it. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Sumita Beauty Champagne Eye Shadow Pencil (Full size, $18) – This was the third spoiler they released for this month. They usually don’t release three spoilers in a month, so I guess they’re having trouble selling out this box. :p I guess a lot of people will be glad to see a makeup item after the body butter and hand lotion. Personally I love that they sent out two hand care/body care products! This was a nice way to round out the box and apologies for the photo as I didn’t unwrap the plastic, hence the reflections.

My June 2014 Glossybox!

Overall value: $53.53

Overall enjoyment: I think that I actually do like this month’s box, despite the fact that I won’t really use two of the products. But the actual box itself and the two body/hand care items more than make up for it! Plus, a full size make-up item is always a plus. ๐Ÿ˜€ Obviously nothing will top last month’s Bergdorf Goodman box, but this isn’t as terrible as April.
