THE REALLY COOL THING ABOUT THIS BOX? It’s still available for sale!
I was again lucky enough to be asked by Memebox to review yet another one of their boxes! Seriously, they’re so nice. This is the Memebox Superbox #31 Herbal Cosmetics and it retails for $32.00 + shipping. I’m really excited to be able to review this one because this is the first time that I’m reviewing a Memebox that is not sold out! If this stuff looks awesome to you, definitely go HERE and buy one. Hurry! Because Memeboxes sell out and don’t always get restocked.
First look! This was box was packed and it definitely had a decent weight to it
Six full size items!
I always take really bad photos of info cards. 😦
Calmia Herb Cleansing Oil Gel (100 ml, $18) – This will definitely last a long time because a little goes a long way! The consistency of this is really fun because it comes out like jell-o and you can smush it between your fingers. (I promise I’m actually mature) But best of all, it FOAMS. I love foaming products.
This does smell really, really strongly of chamomile though. So beware if you’re sensitive to scents! (I am, but I found that this wasn’t terrible/it didn’t irritate me) It washes off to a nice clean scent at the end.
Calmia Rooibos Aqua Sprinkler Gel Cream (150 ml, $34) – THIS SMELLS SO GOOD. If a product is fragranced, I have to like it or I won’t use it, period. I don’t care how good it is for my skin, if I have to smell it and I hate the scent, then I’m not using it. So when I find a product that smells amazing? I’m ecstatic.
If you’ve ever had the Japanese drink Calpico/Calpis, this is what it smells like. It’s citrusy and light and I love, love, love how it smells. I was a bit wary about the fact that is says “whitening” on it, but the information card says that it’s really just supposed to help deliver nutrients and moisture to your skin. So I’m guessing it’s safe to use! I don’t really care for whitening products and I hope that this won’t whiten my skin if I use it for the long term.
Nasarang Herb BB SPF 50+ PA+++ (30 g, $46) – This is so expensive. It was also really well-received. I don’t really use BB creams, but my mom loves them. So I showed her this and had her try some on and she loved it! I was just really happy that she could get to enjoy something from Memebox. 😀 It goes on really smoothly and you can’t even tell you have it on.
If you have really fair skin, it won’t make you look orange or weirdly tan! It practically goes on colorless. Also, it barely has any scent, but what little scent it does have… it smells pretty much like sunscreen. So it’s not offensive in any way. I think this is probably my favorite product out of the entire box because my mom loved it so much.
What it looks like.
Skinfood Bath Salt Honey Jasmine (80 g, $3) – When I opened the box, this was the first thing I could smell. If you don’t like honey or jasmine, then you’re out of luck with this product because it smells really heavily like both! :p I don’t mind either, but honey can sometimes be off-putting.
I have to save this for the winter months, because it’s currently way too hot here to take a bath. But a good idea (maybe?) in the mean time, is to put this in your bathroom to make the whole room smell nicer until you use the bath salts in an actual bath.
Rose Mine Azulene Calming Gel (75 ml, $29) – I’m totally overloaded with after sun lotions now! I got one in my Influenster box, my Birchbox Man, my Popsugar box, and now here in this box. XD I haven’t opened this yet because I really shouldn’t. I have way too many after sun lotions and I want to save them in case I do get a sunburn – or even any other kind of burn. (like if I bake and I accidentally touch the wire rack on a preheated oven…)
BUT ANYWAY. They wrote the funniest thing on their info card:
“You can even apply it at the office because your skin also needs to be protected from the heat generated from computers.”
Kskin Rose Sense 100% Essential Oil (5 ml, $42) – So…………… I hate essential oils. They make me want to gag and worse. But in the name of writing up a review, I opened this up and smelled it. And… yup. Hate it. I don’t enjoy floral scents except jasmine and only when it’s done right. Rose is probably my least favorite floral scent because so many companies make it artificial and gross so I’m always wary.
Obviously, if you like florals or rose-scented products, you’ll love this because essential oils are really concentrated and you will really be able to smell the rose. But oh god, I have to get rid of this ASAP.
The Memebox Superbox #31 Herbal Cosmetics!
Overall value: If I go by the values listed on the info card, it adds up to $172.00
Overall enjoyment: I think this box is a win simply because of the BB cream! I have to say that after receiving so many different boxes, my favorite thing is when I can share the items I get with others and have them be excited about it too. All in all, I think it was a pretty good box because of the skin care! (and you all know how much I love skin care)… even if their original description was a bit misleading. XD
“Soothe and comfort your mind, body, and soul with our new Herbal Cosmetics Box, packed with beauty products made from organic herbs such as lavender, tea tree, chamomile, or peppermint, all highly appreciated in the beauty world for their amazing healing powers. ”
It did say “or” but two (tea tree and peppermint) out of the four organic herbs aren’t included anywhere in the products (at least, nothing was written about them in the information card). Just wanted to point that out in all fairness. 🙂 However, the box was very heavy on chamomile, so they definitely delivered on that promise! And overall, this was definitely an herbal box!
