Yessss, my Spring FabFitFun box arrived!

First look!

Rifle Paper Co. Cities Coaster Set ($16) – These are adorable! I love Rifle Paper Co. products because the illustrations are on point and make your home decor instantly cuter. This set came with 8 coasters and so I took a photo of the four designs – Paris, New York, London, and Tokyo. I don’t think I can bear to use these as coasters because they’re too pretty to ruin. XD These would make for a great house-warming gift or you could frame and hang them! And of course, the box itself is adorable too.

Miracle Grow Gro-able Seed Pod ($1.49) – How fun is this??? Even if you don’t have a green thumb, this might be a good “introduction” to plant-growing. Especially because it says “guaranteed to grow” on the top, haha. I’m not terrible at cultivating plants, but it’s not really my thing either. I’ve always said that I’d be more than happy with a background full of concrete – basketball court and swimming pool. Skip on the grass and flowers. :p The best thing is that you can eat the plant you grow because this is a basil seed pod. I love fresh basil on my pizza, my pasta, my bruschetta, and basically everything else that calls for basil. This is perfect for spring as the sun starts to peek out from behind the clouds (or in my case, full on glaring down, haha the perks of living in California).

ORLY Nail BB Creme ($15) – Oh wow, there’s now BB cream (sorry, creme) for your nails too! XD I think it is important to care for your nails (hence why I don’t really enjoy nail polish), so this is a much better inclusion than just sending us two bottles of nail polish. I might actually use this because it’s tinted, which gives the illusion of nail polish, but it’s really there to help moisturize/smooth your nails.

ORLY Nail Polish in Cake Pop ($8.50) – Now this is nail polish and something I’m not so excited about. But that’s just me because I don’t like nail polish, no matter which subscription box is sending it out. XD This is a nice pastel (ORLY describes it as a pink creme color), which is ideal for spring so I’m sure people who can appreciate nail polish will like it!

Palmetto Derma Collagen Booster & Restoration Serum ($48) – I have never heard of this brand before receiving it in the FFF box, but this product seems to receive pretty good reviews. And yes, this is full size so you can really see if it works well for you. It doesn’t smell like anything so if you’re sensitive to scented facial products, then you won’t have a problem with this one.

Jules Smith Scarf in Modern Art Print ($42) – This is a lot thinner and lighter than I had expected – which makes it the perfect spring scarf! I’m still used to heavier scarves even though I don’t really need to wear them. XD But this is gorgeous and there’s enough blue that I can coordinate this with my mostly dark blue wardrobe for work! It is also great for casual outings because the print is so much fun. 🙂 Would I have bought this on my own? Nope! That’s mostly because I spend my “non-subscription box money” on technology related items… or desserts. XD But now that I have it, I love that I have something new to accessorize with.

Merrithew 3 DVD Set “Intense Body Blast” ($35.95) – The gift card is pictured below with all of the other gift cards. But here’s the photo of the DVD set! I really should start on these DVDs because I still have the one from Popsugar last year and the zumba DVD from FFF’s winter 2014 box. XD Clearly I need to partake more in the “fit” part of the FabFitFun, rather than just the “fab” and the “fun”. But for now, I’m just doing light cardio at night along with some HIIT exercises. What I’d really like to do is to go play basketball or badminton, but sadly my schedule is currently too busy.

YASI Metallic Flash Tattoos ($36) – Um… so these are priced at $36, which is crazy! I found the exact same patterns on Amazon (albeit from a weird retailer) for just $6.95 and free shipping. I think I have enough metallic tattoos to last me for some time at this point. XD

OFRA Cosmetics Eyeshadow Brush Duo, #11 and #20 ($45) – These are so soft! I never say no to makeup tools in subscription boxes. In fact, I think subscription boxes should definitely send out more! So #11 is “the perfect eyeshadow application tool” and #20 is “designed to help you apply concealer/corrector or any liquid or silk peptide foundation”.

Cosmos Creations Premium Puffed Popcorn, Sponsored ($1.49) – Nooooo stop sending me caramel corn. XD I’m not really a fan of kettle or caramel corn (weird, I know). But these are really, really good. I am willing to overlook the fact that it is caramel-flavored because these taste like corn pops!!! (the cereal) There are no kernels (YES) and the caramel flavor isn’t overwhelming. These are slightly crunchy but not hard so if you have sensitive teeth, you can still enjoy them!

And here we have a smorgasbord of gift cards!

Vow to Be Chic Coupon Code, Sponsored ($125): This is for one free dress rental with the rental or purchase of another dress… aka absolutely useless to me. But if you have any weddings you’re going to be attending this spring/summer, you might want to check it out!

Hello Fresh $40 Off Voucher, Sponsored ($40): This is only for new customers, so if you’ve already tried out Hello Fresh, you’re fresh out of luck. :p I actually haven’t tried them yet so it’s possible that when my busy season dies down and I’m actually home before 8PM, I’ll give this a try. Right now, I just don’t have the time to cook dinner.

Merrithew $25 Gift Card ($25) – This is an actual gift card! You can treat it as $25 cash, basically. The only restrictions is that you can’t combine this with any other promotion or gift card, it will not apply toward shipping or taxes, and if you buy something less than $25, then the remaining balance is forfeit. (in other words, just use it all in one go!)

HOWEVER… i don’t think I’ll use this because of the website’s ridiculous shipping charges. I wanted to see how thing worked on their website and so I put a pair of mini hand weights (4.4 pounds total) in my cart, which cost $26.99 (I figured I would maximize my gift card) and my shipping charge came out to $19.37. Um… no. I can go to Target or Walmart and pick up hand weights. I can go online to Amazon and buy hand weights without getting charged so much shipping. And the worst insult is that the near $20 charge for shipping doesn’t even get you two-day or overnight, it’s just your plain UPS ground shipping.

Yeah… no.

Oh, okay so I checked out where they are and it turns out they are in Canada, hence the egregious shipping charges. But still… I’ll have to pass. But if you live in Canada, this is great for you! You probably wouldn’t have to pay so much for shipping. 😀

Sprout It App Card ($0) – This is just an information card about the app and how to plant your seed pod.

The Spring 2015 FabFitFun box!

Overall value: $220.38 (not including any of the “gift cards” and with the Amazon value of the tattoos)

Overall enjoyment: I love that this box really takes spring into account. Some highlights for me… The scarf is perfect for spring weather and just a great accessory. Seriously, buying the scarf by itself is like buying this box – but with this box, you get a lot of other items! The Rifle Co coasters are too cute and I love them. And surprisingly enough, I really enjoyed that bag of puffed corn. XD I will say that the pricing of the tattoos is a bit inflated, but other than that – FFF has put out another great box!

And guess what? You’re in luck because this box is still available! Use BOXES10 to get $10 off. That makes this box just $39.95
