Dabney Lee Dottie Umbrella ($20) – This is a really cute umbrella, but I already have a company-branded umbrella (which is awesomely functional) that I’m happy with. Not to mention the fact that it really doesn’t rain here, where I live, so I honestly just have one umbrella stashed away in my car for those scarce rainy days. I do have to say that I love the polka dot pattern and the fact that it’s a beautiful dark blue! I really hope that Popsugar continues sending out more dark blue items. 🙂
All nice and compact…
The “bag” that you see in the first photo gets swallowed inside the actual tote so you don’t have to worry about losing it because it’s attached to the tote.
Flip & Tumble 24-7 Bag ($12) – Ahhhhhh, I love this! It’s adorable and compact and the color scheme is perfect! Blue and grey are two of my favorite colors (my closet will attest to this because it’s all I ever wear, haha). It is a bit smaller than I was expecting. If you have a regular-sized Baggu bag, that is a good reference for the size I thought this Flip & Tumble bag would be. But I still feel like it could hold quite a bit more than you’d expect. Oh and look at the “handle” part of the bag – the inside has a felt-like patch. One of my favorite items in this month’s box for sure!
Look how carefully this candle was packaged! 😄
Produce Candles Rhubarb Spring Candle ($20) – This smells fantastic. It’s fruity and sweet. I can smell a base of vanilla and the slight tartness of rhubarb. I really wish I could get this in some sort of lotion or body butter because it smells so good. 😄 One great thing about subscription boxes – I get so many candles that I know I’ll be prepared if our power ever goes out for any reason, haha. Also! I love the packaging of this candle; the jar is reusable and the top of the jar is really nifty too.
One Love Organics Gardenia + Tea Antioxidant Body Serum ($39) – I’ve never actually used or received a body serum before, so kudos for sending out something unique Popsugar! This serum is light and fast-absorbing. But it’s more like oil than a serum, which is more watery. You actually spray it on your body and just let it soak in for softer/moisturized skin. I would recommend doing so right after you take a shower for the best effects. It is lightly perfumed with gardenia so if that scent gives you a headache, you might want to stay away from it but I like it a lot so I can definitely see myself using this. In fact, I’m definitely going to try using this. 😀
Potting Shed Creations Garden-In-A-Bag Basil ($10) – Okay, this is both exciting and not exciting at the same time. Bad news – this is our “food” item of the month and so I can’t actually eat it. 😦 You guys have no idea how sad I was when I realized that there were no actual snacks in this box. But the good news is that I love basil and my dad loves gardening so I’m definitely saving this as a part of his Father’s Day present for him. I know he’ll get a kick out of growing basil in a bag. 😄
$25 Gift Card to Mott 50 ($25) – This is a special extra and I honestly don’t think I will use it. The items on Mott 50’s website are too pricey for me to actually get something for free with the gift card. But for those of you who will use it, the expiration date is 5/30/2015!
+ two other promo codes
The April 2015 Popsugar box!
Overall value: $101.00 (not including the gift card)
Overall enjoyment: Not my favorite box from Popsugar, if I’m being honest (and no, it’s not because there wasn’t a ready-to-eat food item haha). Rather, it’s just that everything was nice, but nothing was amazing. Yes, I love the flip & tumble bag and I also love the scent of the candle, but I already have both of those items in other scents/brands/colors. Regardless, I do think that this is a nice spring-inspired box and now I’m looking forward to the May Popsugar box… which is already sold out! If you sign up today, it’ll be for June. :O
