What is Purple Moxie, exactly? And what is this subscription all about?

“Each box is centered around a theme & filled with girl goodies … boutique accessories, natural skin care products and other treats that say Thanks for all you do!”

And if you’re interested in live unboxing, the ladies at Purple Moxie actually made a video to show this very box! But anyway… onwards to the contents.

This month’s theme was warm and cozy.

Since Purple Moxie is all about celebrating women… every month a different amazing woman will be featured and you can read all about her story here.

Silly Cow Farms Marshmallow Swirls Hot Cocoa – When I first opened the box, I could immediately smell something sweet… unfortunately, this hot cocoa powder had leaked everywhere in the box and stained whatever it touched. According to the information card, this is Silly Cow Farms’ Marshmallow Swirls Hot Cocoa, which sounds amazing but I won’t be drinking this because it’s packaged in a white envelope. It’s just like your parents tell you at Halloween, don’t eat any of the candy that isn’t factory-sealed. The idea of hot cocoa is nice, but I really don’t like the fact that it was sent out like this.

The next mini white envelope…

Peppermint Lip Balm from Bella Creations – This was super cute and tiny. Perfect for throwing into a small clutch or to bring with you anywhere.

You can easily slide off the metal top.

Tahitian Vanilla Lip Balm from Bella Creations – This was one of the items affected by the cocoa. XD But definitely a great inclusion for a warm and cozy themed box as cold weather almost always means chapped lips!

Chamomile Tea – One of my favorites.

DSC_0668

Great for any time of day; I love chamomile tea before bed since it’s caffeine-free and so soothing.

DSC_0673

Warm Spice Tea – I love that this is also caffeine free!

DSC_0674

Lots of flavors/scents in this one.

DSC_0677

A recyclable wooden spoon (like the kind you can get at Sprinkles) to help you with your tea or cocoa.

DSC_0669

Warm Winter Recipes – Purple Moxie also included three recipes for you to make; Zuppa Toscana Soup, Loaded Potato Soup, and Ma & Pop’s Caramel Rolls. (I thought the button and the string were a nice touch).

DSC_0670

As someone who loves to bake, I’m definitely interested in the caramel rolls recipe!

Calming Bath Salts from Bella Creations – This includes sweet almond oil, lavender essential oil, and lavender flowers. If you’re a bath kind of person, this one’s for you. And if you don’t like baths, you could use this for a foot soak.

Now this was amazing!

Warm and Cozy Socks – I think these are made of wool or yarn? It’s that scratchy kind of fabric you wear during the winter… so it’s probably one of those. :p I love the color (grey is always a welcome color in my wardrobe) and the pattern – subtle holiday cheer. Definitely guaranteed to keep your feet warm.

Mug & Crocheted Warmer from Serendipitous Stitches – The crocheted warmer was made by Serendipitous Stitches and goes perfectly with your brand new mug. I love that they included a mug and packed it so nicely, complete with warmer!

The January Purple Moxie Box!

Overall enjoyment: I was not a fan of the packaging for the cocoa, but I thought this was a sweet box. The curation was true to the theme and it was evident to see how much thought was put into it. The mug and the socks are definitely my two favorites from this box and I think this would have made for a great care package to a friend or loved one.
