So what is Bean Box and what makes them unique?

“Seattle’s top coffees, delivered fresh. Bean Box’s coffee experts hand pick roasts every month, including artful blends and single origin coffees from 20 world-renowned roasters, such as Herkimer, Zoka, Vita, Ladro, and Slate. Every Bean Box features freshly-roasted whole bean coffee, tasting notes, roaster profiles, brewing tips, and an artisan treat.”

Even cooler is that they ship out these boxes within 48 hours of roasting!

If you’re a coffee amateur like me, they’ve included some tips and tricks to ensure you have the best coffee experience possible! You can even go on their website at the following URLs to better understand more about each step of the process:

And now onto the four different roasts I received!

Kuma Coffee; Sun Bear Iced Coffee Blend – This one’s a seasonal  blend that’s only available in the summer! It’s still slightly warm here in California so I think iced coffee is a go. 🙂 One really cool thing you’ll see is that the label includes both the original roasting company’s comments and Bean Box’s additional notes. This one has notes of chocolate, berry, grape, and intense sweetness!

Longshoreman’s Daughter; Walk’N Boss Blend – Did you know that this company has been roasting coffee beans in their cafe since 1982? This one has notes of brown sugar, molasses, chocolate, pear and berry. (I will tell you right now my palate is not sophisticated enough to pick out all the nuances in this intricate blend, BUT it tastes amazing – all of them do!)

The Umbrella; Sidamo Ethiopia – Each bag also has the roast date printed on it so you know you’re guaranteed freshness with Bean Box! I haven’t had time to try a cup of this one, but the notes in this blend really intrigued me – citric lemon with berry, subtle jasmine, and bergamot – almost sounds like a gourmet tea! 😉

Vashon Island Coffee Roasterie; Espresso Ecstasy – Well, what do you know? This one is my favorite. XD I don’t drink coffee on a regular basis because I’m super sensitive to caffeine, but when I do drink coffee, I take mine black and I prefer depth with a slight sweetness. This one has it all! It honestly makes the perfect cup of black coffee and the beans smell amazing even before grinding. Definitely had to save the best for last!

Bean Box was also awesome enough to include this handmade caramel!

Inside each bag!

Overall enjoyment: If you’re serious about your cup of coffee, then Bean Box is definitely for you. With their freshly roasted beans and unique flavors, you’re sure to find one that’s suited for your tastes and maybe a brand new favorite. If you’re not a regular coffee drinker (like me), these bags of coffee will definitely last for a while. XD If you are a regular coffee drinker (like my mom), then also consider checking out their Coffee of the Month subscription!
