This box’s featured country was ITALY!

dsc_0985

I was pretty excited when I saw this because my family and I visited Italy for the first time ever last December and we loved it. The people were so lovely, the sights were beautiful, and the food was seriously amazing.

Every Try The World box comes with an amazing fold-out information pamphlet about the curated items and the country so you can feast and learn at the same time. 😉

I just love the design; kudos to the graphic designer who made this! Great layout and so easy to read.

And there’s even more on the back! They even include recipes for you to try out with the items you’ve received.

It all comes wonderfully packaged in this box. (there was an outer box as well, to protect all the goods)

dsc_0990

Terrigena Mushroom Risotto Kit – This kit is made with all-natural seasonings and arborio rice! The instructions on the back are super easy to follow and it’s a one-pot meal because all you have to do is dump everything into a pot and just go from there. 😀 This is the kind of home-cooked meal I could get behind – minimal prep (seriously, the whole process takes less than 15 minutes!) and maximum reward.

Sciara Hazelnut Cream – It’s a shame that my photo turned out slightly blurry because this is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE ITEM in the entire box! If you love Nutella, you’re going to love this too. *___* It’s just pure hazelnut, no chocolate… so you really get that punch of nutty goodness. You can put this on crepes, in sandwiches, or do what I did and just eat it straight out of the jar! It is SO GOOD. Seriously amazing. YOU NEED THIS IN YOUR LIFE.

dsc_0994

Marabissi Classic Amaretti – If you love the taste of almond extract/essence, you’ll love these cookies. They’re crumbly and delicate and perfect to go along with a cup of afternoon tea or coffee! The info card also suggests that you layer them into tiramisu for added flavor or serve with strawberries and cream.

dsc_0995

Cascina San Cassiano Pesto Sauce – This pesto is made from locally-sourced produce, their production line is solar-powered, their packaging is 100% recyclable… and best of all, the pesto itself is delicious. I personally spread a thin layer onto my sandwich – picture wheat bread, deli turkey (low sodium of course), fresh tomato slices, crisp lettuce, avocado, and then this delicious spread. AMAZING.

dsc_0996

Societa Agricola Acetomodena Balsamic Vinegar – If there’s something I love to indulge in, it’s dipping freshly baked French bread into high quality olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It is just such a perfect combination; if your bread is crusty, it is the perfect vessel for the olive oil and balsamic vinegar. This would also be wonderful in salads if you do a simple olive oil and balsamic dressing!

dsc_0997

Sabatino Tartufi Truffle Zest – I was so excited when I saw this! HOW CAN YOU SAY NO TO TRUFFLE ZEST? This will literally make any savory dish better. I love the delicate aroma and the undeniable earthiness of truffles… and this is just amazing. I can truffle-ize any dish now! Seriously, I can make Easy Mac into truffle mac and cheese. XD

Here is what the packets look like.

dsc_0998

Giuliano Caffe Ground Coffee – I’m not a coffee drinker, but my mom and brother are surely going to appreciate this! When we went to Italy last December, they both loved the espressos and the richer coffees offered at the cafes. This coffee blend is roasted in small batches for over 20 minutes at a time, which is more than twice the length of the standard industrial process… which means it’s definitely got depth of flavor!

La Pasta di Aldo Egg Pappardelle – This pasta is handmade with just two ingredients – egg and flour! You know what I want to do with this? Cook it, toss it in butter, grate some parmesan over it, mix that in completely… and then top it off with the truffle zest. Sometimes simple is best. *___*

The Try The World Italy Box!

Overall enjoyment: This box is absolutely fantastic! The curation of the items ensures that you get to use and enjoy them more than once and in more than one kind of way. 😀 Hands down my favorite is that hazelnut cream because I just can’t get enough of it; but the truffle zest is a close second because it’s going to elevate so many dishes! It’s a great way to try some specialty items from another country while coming up with your own recipes too. 🙂
