So what is TetherBox?

From their website:

Each month we send students from around the country specially curated TetherBoxes of meticulously selected delicious snacks (including nut free and gluten free options), personal care products, fun gadgets and surprises gifted to them by their parents and loved ones.

You’ve sent your college student off to school and you miss them dearly. We’re parents too and, believe us, we get it. Unfortunately, sleeping in the dorm with your kids is “frowned upon,” but luckily with TetherBox you can send them a monthly care package that’s like a big hug from home.

We partner with student ambassadors from different parts of the country who help us discover, test and taste the various products we carefully select for each monthly TetherBox. That way, you know your child will love it and he or she will look forward to receiving their next college care package every month from you.  It’s the perfect gift for college students.

So, if you are a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, sibling, or friend, send a TetherBox care package to your favorite student to show them you are thinking of them and that you miss them. After all, who doesn’t love a care package? “

The info card!

Aww, this is a really cute way to say thank you and also enter their contest!

Coney Island Classics Butter Me Up Kettle Corn ($1.50) – I love popcorn so this is a fantastic snack for me! This is non-GMO, nut free, gluten free, and vegan… and only 150 calories for the entire bag. 😀 I’m so excited to tear into this bag and enjoy this small batch-made kettle corn.

240 Sweet Cinnamon Crunch Marshmallows ($10) – They don’t play around with the snacks they send out! I could smell these as soon as I opened the package and the scent of cinnamon was amazing. These are gourmet marshmallows that were chosen as one of Oprah’s favorite things in the O magazine. :O These are gluten free and nut free and ALL MINE! I am eating some of these straight out of the package and saving a few to add to my hot chocolate. *____*

Think Jerky Sriracha Honey Turkey Jerky ($4.50) – I’ve never had sriracha honey jerky before but I love jerky so I’m pretty sure I’ll love this. 😉 This is a great pick-me-up when you want to eat something more substantial than chips but you’re too lazy to make a real meal. XD Jerky does fill you up and it’s good for protein. The coolest thing is that this jerky is crafted by a Michelin Star chef, Gale Gand! :O If you’re a foodie, you know how big of a deal it is to earn a Michelin Star!!!

PopSockets ($10) –  These is a cool “you didn’t know you needed it until you got one” kind of accessory. You take it out of the packaging and the back of this thing is a sticky circle so that you can stick it onto any of your electronics!  Watch the Youtube video here to see how it works. It seriously makes holding your iPhone in one hand so much easier. (which is super helpful when you have a 6+)

See how it expands. 😀 I love this marble pattern – they have lots more on their website.

TetherBox Ear Buds ($10) – You can never go wrong with an extra pair of ear buds! These are actually pretty comfortable and the sound quality isn’t too shabby either. 😉

Shark Linen Scent Air Freshener ($1.79) – If you get too lazy to wash your sheets or if it’s midterm time and all your favorite shirts smell gross but you don’t have time to do laundry… a few sprays of this will help. XD Or if you just like the scent of fresh clean linen!

Viter Energy Mints in Wintergreen Flavor ($3.33) – This is a two-for-one: you get your caffeine/energy boost while refreshing your breath. So definitely better than drinking coffee, right? XD No coffee breath and so easy to carry in your bag!

Apple Cider K-Cup – This is a special extra, just because! If you don’t have a Keurig machine, you could probably just dump all the powder into a cup, add hot water, stir, and enjoy. XD

Antiac Clearwash Daily Cleansing Face Wash – Another special extra. Good to have on hand if you go to the gym and forget your toiletry bag. Or just for travel.

And because it’s October – some creepy spider rings. :p

The October TetherBox!

Overall value: $41.12

Overall enjoyment: I have to say that I’m very impressed with the selection of snacks included in TetherBox! I’ve seen other college care package subscription boxes and none of them have ever sent out such gourmet, fancy snacks. As someone who values good snacks, this is a huge selling point! The other items included were fun and quirky and most importantly, useful – definitely things a college student could use. 😀
