What is the Music Box Subscription?

“Every month you’ll receive carefully selected music from our Featured Artists. Enjoy music discovery at your door step every month!”

They have four different subscriptions  (my review is for “The Box”).

The Envelope – Exclusive monthly compilation CD w/ various artists and genres.
The Box – 2 CD’s and extra swag such as stickers, download cards, candy and possibly other amazing goodies!
The Bundle – BOTH! You get The Envelope and The Box.
The Digital Envelope – E-mailed digital download of the compilation CD.

On top of that, they also offer six different genres: pop rock, pop punk, alternative/indie, rock, hard rock/metal, and all genres/surprise! I’m not sure which one I received, but I think I got alternative/indie… or the all genres/surprise box, haha.

The information card! It lists the two CDs you’ve received this month and additional details about the artists. But let’s look at all of the other cool stuff they also included!

They’ve also included this digital album download of Modus Operandi by Jerry Dale Harris! I’ve photoshopped out the QR code… but then realized you could just go to the link and download it anyway. XD The coolest thing is that Jerry himself actually signed the card. 😀 He’s described as rock/folk.

Just an FYI but you will have to create a Noise Trade account to download the album.

Another digital download! This time it’s Fire by Former Tides. And as you can see below… even though it’s free… you still have to enter your payment information, so just a heads up.

I personally didn’t download it because of this extra hurdle. Instead, you can listen to it on Youtube!

Some cool stickers to put wherever you want!

Brave by Retro Youth

The track listing!

Seriously how long has it been since you’ve touched a CD? :p I’m lucky that my old macbook pro still has the CD drive in it because my work laptop and my new macbook pro do not. XD ANYWAY…

I really liked this album! They sound amazing and remind me of Three Days Grace/Papa Roach/Linkin Park. They’re categorized as alternative/indie on Google… but I’d say they’re more pop rock to me. XD Here’s one of the songs off of this album!

Until the End of Days – Nick Urb

Track listing!

I’m not sure how to categorize Nick Urb, but he is labeled as pop/folk/rock. XD He kind of reminds me of… Ed Sheeran, Death Cab for Cutie, and The Spill Canvas. I really liked the track “Heaven on Earth” – his music is so calming and easy to listen to. Sadly his album songs aren’t on Youtube, but you can check out his covers! (although there are live version of a couple of his tracks there)

A fun pin. 🙂

Overall enjoyment: I have to say, I was really surprised by how much I liked the two albums they sent me! I’m kind of picky about my music but I actually ended up listening to both albums in their entirety. 😀
